Recipes

Sorry for delivering you an essentially dead link but the recipes are in process and I needed to post this page in order to organize the recipes underneath this page.

That said, this is all coming! (I hesitate to say soon as soon to me is surely different than soon to you.)

Just one note about recipes: I write them how I cook and I think when I cook. They likely are not for beginners, because I have a base of knowledge I assume and work from there.  I do suggest exercising The Google Machine and doing some research if you have questions about quantities and substitutions. It’s sorta like when you were growing up and your mom told you to look up a word instead of just telling you how to spell it. It forced you to learn a bit. Or at least it did me.

Also, regarding canning. I lay no claim that the methods and techniques I use are “approved by the USDA canning police.”  So, seriously, go reference a standard book, such as Putting Food By before taking on my recipes (or writing me stern emails and comments about how my methods are not approved).  I’ve been canning for a long time, with a pressure canner as well as a boiling water bath, and there are no children in my house. I take responsibility for myself and my health and, when you use these recipes, I expect you to do the same. (BTW: this serves as my legal disclaimer. You have been warned that these recipes are not tested scientifically, so don’t go trying to sue me.)

I’ve organized this blog how I eat and I am sure some people will freak out that it isn’t how they are used to seeing recipes organized. If you happen to be one of those folks, I am happy to suggest a list of awesome books for you.
